On Sunday October 11, the LCN hosted its third DC Dinner. Rami Haddad, Julien Chemali and I (Serge) were proud to present at the function. This year four University Lebanese Clubs from the DC area presented with us (the most in LCN DC history!). Presidents from American University, George Washington, George Mason and University of Maryland, College Park shared their successes, hopes for the coming year and their appreciation for the LCN with the attendants in the audience.
It was an honor for me to meet each student leader and discuss their great ideas about how we can work together to strengthen the LCN and their ULCs. Sarah Nehme, AU President, echoed a number of her peers and stated that it would be beneficial to all ULCs if they collaborated with each other on events. This statement is at the heart of the LCN vision. Uniting students, alumni and ULCs can only strengthen the Lebanese community and raise the academic and professional bar for all those who participate. Distinguished guests included Toni Frangieh, a diplomat from the Lebanese Embassy.
The LCN would like to thank the Lebanese Taverna for helping make this event a reality. We concluded the night by surprising Bruna Kesserwani, GMU President, with a birthday cake. Her fellow board members brought a cake and shared her birthday with the attendees.
