Without your active participation the LCN does not exist. This is your organization, make it a success!
COMMITTEES

Committees are composed of either self-selected or LCN board selected volunteers. Each LCN board member is responsible for his/her committee, its members, and function. A committee may be assigned a Chairperson or may directly report to a board member. Below you will find a brief list of common LCN committees. The list of committees will vary each year.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

Reports to the Treasurer
Commitment: Full-Year

The majority of LCN revenues are collected through our generous donors. This committee will develop, among other things, fundraising campaigns, funding distribution materials, and targeted community and corporate donations.

RECAP COMMITTEE

Reports to the Vice President of Public Relations
Commitment: Full-Year

The reCap is the LCN’s membership and alumni publication. The newsletter features LCN news and showcases the various events University Lebanese Clubs (ULCs) are putting on throughout the year. At a minimum the reCap is published bi-annually. Strong skills in Adobe, Microsoft Publisher, and other publishing tools is strongly recommended.

INFO-SESSION COMMITTEE

Reports to the Vice President of Events
Commitment: Full-Year

The LCN hosts info-sessions with partnering companies, non-profits, etc., to offer career opportunities to its members. This committee will work with partnering entities to host info-sessions developed in coordination with ULCs and the alumni community.

ALUMNI COMMITTEE

Reports to the Vice President of Membership
Commitment: Full-Year

Year after year the longevity of the LCN amassed a robust alumni community. Maintaining a strong post-collegiate alumni network is vital to the LCN’s missions. We task our alumni committee to serve our alumni community by bringing them meaningful programming. The alumni committee will work closely with the VP of Membership and events to develop alumni programming, data management for our alumni contact lists, and engage our alumni through various new social media.

AWARDS SELECTION COMMITTEE

Reports to the Vice President of Membership
Commitment: February-April

Once a year committees are appointed to review and determine winners for the following LCN awards:

  1. Academic Excellence and Heritage Award
  2. Alumni of the Year Award
  3. Most Outstanding ULC Award

Committee members are not required to attend the national convention, but are very much encouraged to. Committee selection processes are outlined in our PPMs.

WEBSITE IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE

Reports to Vice President of Public Relations
Commitment: June-December

The website improvement committee drafts a report of all the recommended changes, updates, and enhancements for the LCN website. This committee reviews all content and user interface functions to make sure the website is current. It is recommended that the committee report is done by the end of fall.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Reports to the Vice President of Public Relations
Commitment: Full-Year

The PR committee provides PR support for the Vice President. The VP may assign a wide range of tasks from technology support to partnership relations with other non-profits. Experience with branding, marketing, new social media, and graphic design are recommend for this committee.

RESUME WORKSHOP COMMITTEE

Reports to the Vice President of Events
Commitment: Full-Year

This committee is tasked with providing resume, cover letter, and other professional document guidance to LCN’s membership (primarily students). This committee often works with ULCs to host resume and cover letter workshops on campus for students. Experience with resume building, and HR is recommended.

LCN NATIONAL ELECTION COMMITTEE

Appointed by LCN National Executive Board
Commitment: Must attend LCN convention

This committee is organized before the LCN national convention. It collects and reviews candidates for the LCN board. At the national convention this committee explains and administers the LCN election with the voting body of the LCN: ULCs led by their respective Presidents. The election committee tabulates and determines the winners of the LCN elections.

FINANCIAL AUDIT COMMITTEE

Reports to the Treasurer
Commitment: July-October

The Audit committee works very closely with the former and newly elected LCN Treasurers to review all financial transactions in preparation for LCN’s October tax-filing. This committee will also file an independent report on the LCN’s finances and makes recommendations to improve and enhance the LCN fiscal health.
